It was going to be awesome; I was going to Camp Y-Noah with my sixth grade class at Zellers Elementary. The day before our exodus was very hectic, as everyone was getting his or her last minute prerequisites for the outing. As we reached Clinton, Ohio, I could smell the sweet aroma of marshmallows lurking nearby. Our school ran off of the bus in anticipation like fleeing from a fierce fire. While we nestled into our cabins and prepared for lunch, the sun was beating down on us like a hammer into cut-rate wood. I sunk my teeth into the fiery fresh pizza, and the four-day experience started out like the New England Patriots football season.

My favorite activity at Camp Y-Noah was undeniably canoeing. Getting into a canoe for the first time and paddling abroad an immense lake was an experience unrivaled. Gripping the oar while gazing in on the entire campsite was just picturesque. Night hiking/stargazing was another astonishing activity. Walking through the woods during the pitch-black night, hearing, “chirp,” from the crickets and “croak,” from the frogs, was a delightful encounter. Horseback riding was also a highlight of the journey. Sprinting through a slender trail at remarkable speeds was both bloodcurdling and electrifying. Overall, the incident was incredible and certainly one never to be forgotten. Camp Y-Noah was an impeccable conclusion to elementary school and a prominent transition into middle school.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kyenke.blogspot.com/2004/11/1-autobiographic-incident-narrative.html' title='1. It’s home to 16 acres of exotic flowers, trees, shrubs, and lakes. It is landscaped beautifully and maintained by the owner since 1949, Henry Ross. The preeminent part is that it’s located directly behind my home, so I have easy entry to and from. Many years ago, he housed alluring animals as well but now he keeps his vigilant German Shepard as the only pet. A few years ago, I remember going back there with my Dad, witnessing Henry’s previous watchdog running full pace towards us. “Buzz!” exclaimed Henry from the top of his lungs. Lucky for us, the dog stopped in his tracks, and ran towards his master. Ever since this experience, I’ve felt a special peace present here. Whenever I feel like a reprieve from the hectic schedule, I visit Gardenview. I know I can just go out by the lake, sit on the bench, and watch the ducks swim. It's very reassuring and peaceful. I think everyone needs this from time to time, just to connect with your innerself, and experience true nature.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kyenke.blogspot.com/2004/11/7-strongsville-local-lore.html' title='7. Book Review

You Cannot Be Serious is a very appealing and decipherable novel. It starts out on the morning of September the 11th, and how the attacks impacted his and all other New Yorker’s lives, as well as the whole world. It ends with McEnroe saying, “I’m totally serious,” when referring to himself advancing inpolitics. Throughout the story he tells us he’s won 154 singles and doubles titles, more than any playerin history. He gleefully recounts days spent picking fights with umpires, throwing tennis rackets and paying tens of thousands of dollars in fines. It's funny, though -- when you read over what he actually did back in the late 1970's and early 1980's, the recklessness that earned him the nickname Superbrat, it's surprising to see how tame most of it was. McEnroe's greatest hothead follies were at Wimbledon, where he failed to show up at ceremonial functions that champions are expected to attend, screamed at officials when they made calls he didn't agree with, and threw and occasionally kicked his racket. McEnroe admits in his account that he's afraid of being forgotten by the public, even though he says he's recognized wherever he goes. "There's a part of me that's addicted to the attention," he says. "It's one reason that I'm writing this book." John uses agreat deal of seriousness mixed with some dirt hereand there to get across his thought. McEnroe may have out grown his undomesticated customs—he now attends anger-management classes and helps raise six kids—but he's still a little nuts. He'll always be remembered for his great tennis game, not to mention his great big mouth.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kyenke.blogspot.com/2004/11/8-book-review_14.html' title='8.
